Entry and exit days both count

How the tool works

For each planned day, count that day and the preceding 179 days. Add all days spent in Schengen during that window, counting both entry and exit dates. A planned day exceeds the rule if the count is greater than 90. The maximum continuous stay is checked day by day, allowing earlier visits to fall out of the rolling window.

What the result covers

Planning aid for the ordinary 90/180 short-stay rule, based only on the visits you enter. It does not determine your right to enter, check visa validity, account for bilateral exceptions or audit past overstays. Do not enter stays authorised by a residence permit or long-stay visa in the issuing country. Short visits to other Schengen countries can still count. A visa authorising fewer days can be stricter than this result.

Before you go

Do arrival and departure days both count?
Yes. Entering and leaving on the same date counts as one day, not zero. Moving between Schengen countries does not restart the allowance.
Does leaving Schengen reset the clock?
No. Each day has its own rolling 180-day window. Days from earlier visits stop counting as they move outside that window.
Which previous trips should I enter?
Enter all relevant ordinary short stays before your planned arrival, across all Schengen countries. Include visits overlapping the 179 days before arrival. Older visits can be entered too; days outside a window are ignored. Previous rows must not overlap or include your planned visit.
