How the tool works

The percentage fee is charged on the entered source amount. Add the fixed source-currency fee, deduct both from the amount and multiply the remainder by the exchange rate. Reference rates come from the ECB through Frankfurter; your amount is calculated locally and is not sent to the rate API.

What the result covers

Reference rates are dated daily reference observations, not live exchange-counter or card-network quotes. A bank can include a spread in its rate. For a real offer, use the quoted rate and add only fees that are not already included. This model deducts fees from the exchanged amount rather than adding them on top.

Before you go

Why is the reference date not always today?
ECB reference rates are normally published on working days. Weekends and holidays can leave the most recent observation a few days old. The result shows the actual date returned by the provider.
What if the rate service is unavailable?
The tool shows an error instead of guessing a rate. Switch to manual mode and enter a rate you have independently checked.
Does a zero fee mean I get the reference rate?
No. A provider can charge through the difference between its quoted rate and the reference rate. Use the provider quote in manual mode to account for that spread.
